Trade

The Washoe did not trade often with other tribes because they had much of what the y needed already and because of the language barrier. The Washoe Indians traded with the Maidu, the Paiute, and the Nisenan tribes. They Washoe traded acorns, shells, and deer skins for antelope skins and cui-ui fish with the Paiute. The Washoe often traveled to the Pacific Ocean to collect shells for trading. The Washoe traded with other tribes in order to get golden eagle feathers and magpie feathers. The Washoe valued feathers and used them for ceremonies and decoration.
