Tools

The Washoe used many tools in order to hunt and work. For fishing they used spears, hook and line, nets, traps and weirs. For hunting in the forest the Washoe used the bow and arrow and stone knives. To hold their belongings the Washoe made basket out of fern wood, redbud and willow branches. The bows where cane sharpened on one side or had an arrow head on it. The Washoe made bows of different sizes. Small bows were used for rabbits and other small animals, while large bows where for deer. Each Washoe family had their own rabbit net that was 30 feet wide and sometimes 300 feet long in order to catch as many as possible.
