Clothing

In both winter and summer the Washoe did not wear many clothes. They wore shoes made of sage grass and deer hide. They sometimes wore leggings and aprons. Washoe men and women wore earrings made of bone, wood, and shells. Men killed rabbits for their hide and made blankets and robes. Girls put clay on their skin as a type of sun block. Boys wore deer skin head bands and the women tattooed and painted their bodies with designs.
